I’m alive!!! Yeah. I know. It has been a while. I never intended to go two weeks or more without a post. Or even a week without three posts. But man, life has me on a schedule right now where I had to make some priorities.
The first one is school. I’m in my first semester at the University of Alabama, and the past two weeks have been littered with essays and exams. I’m determined to start off with a high GPA, and the grades I have seen posted are all in the 95-100 Percentile range…. So yeah, Mission accomplished there. It’s just so much easier to maintain a high GPA than to raise a low one. Not to mention, I’m a big kid. Not one of these nineteen years old frat boys who think life is all about how many beers can I funnel. I’ve been there. Guess what you walk away with? Nothing but pain, stains, and bragging rights from people who don’t really matter. So I’ve been trying to study my ass off, and it pays off.
But Gary? Isn’t this blog writing?
Why yes it is, oh great voice in my head. But this blog is a distant second to becoming a professional My second priority has been my writing.
writer. I love to write. Like, unhealthily and unapologetically so. I’m going to write and write and write until I’m making a living off of my writing. I don’t mean just scraping by either, though even that would be fine with me, as long as I’m doing what I love. I want to be a household name, pushing Stephen king and Stephanie Meyer aside, and pumping out amazing best seller after amazing best seller, over and over again.
There are also some intentions to get into the publishing side of things, too, but that’ll happen when it happens.
However, for me to become a writer, I need to write. I need to finish my novel. I hate, HATE, HATE when a day goes buy and I haven’t had a chance to pump a few pages out in my current manuscript. Currently, it sits at over eighteen complex chapters.
It’s really coming along, and I have a massive and ambitious scope for the world I’m creating. You, my tribe members, are going to love it. I know it. And anyone and everyone who has read my chapters early on and now will tell you that I’m on to something great and that I’m only improving.
I take that as a huge compliment.
The world I am creating is amazing. It’s a story that needs to be told, in many forms of media. I can’t wait to see how the stories I create are received among the people that read them. This is going to be a rich tale spanning many books over several series.
It’s in the making.
It’s coming.
And occasionally it takes focusing on that and putting things like this blog on the back burner for a moment.
